Shipping

All orders ship from San Diego, California. I pack everything myself — carefully, with padding, in boxes that won’t let a piece shift during transit.

  • Processing time: 1–3 business days after payment
  • Domestic (US): USPS First Class or Priority, 2–7 business days
  • International: USPS International, 1–4 weeks depending on destination and customs
  • Tracking: provided on all orders
International buyers: you are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or import fees charged by your country. These are not included in the purchase price and are outside my control.

If your order arrives damaged, please photograph the packaging and the piece and contact me within 48 hours. I will work with you to make it right.

Returns & exchanges

Because each piece is one-of-a-kind and made to order or available in limited quantity, I do not accept returns or exchanges unless the item arrives damaged or is significantly not as described.

If something arrives damaged:

  • Contact me within 48 hours of delivery
  • Include photos of the damage and original packaging
  • I will offer a replacement (if possible), store credit, or refund — your choice

Please read listings carefully before purchasing. I describe every piece in detail and photograph them from multiple angles. If you have questions before buying, ask me.

Care instructions

Most pieces are polymer clay, painted with acrylic and sealed. Many also include silicone, resin, metal, glass, shell, leather or faux fur. They are durable but not indestructible. Here’s how to keep them looking right:

  • Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight — colors may fade over years
  • Do not submerge in water; wipe clean with a barely damp cloth if needed
  • Store flat or in a soft pouch — not loose in a bag where pieces can knock together
  • Avoid contact with harsh chemicals, perfumes, or sprays (especially on jewelry)
  • Handle textured surfaces gently — fine detail can wear with abrasion
  • Sterling silver darkens over time; a silver polishing cloth brings it back. Stainless steel won’t tarnish
  • Faux fur and leather: spot-clean only, never soak
  • Real shell, eggshell and glass break like the real thing, because they are

Polymer clay is more flexible than ceramic and won’t shatter if dropped from a low height, but it can crack or chip if dropped hard on a solid surface. Most of my pieces have survived years of display and handling — treat them with care and they’ll last.

Custom commissions

Custom work follows a different process than shop purchases. Please read this before submitting a request.

  • Timeline: most commissions take 2–6 weeks from deposit to shipment, depending on complexity
  • Deposit: 50% non-refundable deposit required to begin work
  • Revisions: two rounds of revisions included before final approval; additional rounds may incur a fee
  • Cancellation: if you cancel after work has begun, the deposit is forfeited. That said, I'm not heartless — if something genuinely comes up, reach out. Depending on the situation, I may offer store credit toward a future piece or gift card instead of a full loss, though that's at my discretion and not guaranteed.
  • What I won’t do: copies of other artists’ work, IP/character replicas, pieces I don’t believe in
I reserve the right to decline any commission request. If I’m not the right person for what you need, I’ll tell you honestly and may be able to point you somewhere else.

Etsy orders

Shop purchases go through Etsy, which handles payment and buyer protection. Etsy’s own policies apply to those transactions in addition to mine.

If you have an issue with an Etsy order, you can message me through the Etsy platform or email me directly at oddities@rottencuties.com. I respond to all messages within 48 hours.
